Printer not working / not visible

Symptoms: Office printer doesn’t print for anyone; printer intermittently appears; needs update.    

Quick checks (User):

1. Make sure you’re on HFCR Wi-Fi (or ethernet).

2. Restart the printer and your computer.

3. Try File → Print → More printers/Options to reveal network printers.  

   Fix (IT):

   • On the printer panel, apply any firmware update and confirm network status/IP.  

   • If Wi-Fi is flaky, plug ethernet; verify the printer IP and driver.  

   • Push the printer via Jamf policy or add by IP on Macs: System Settings → Printers → Add → IP → enter IP → choose driver.

   • Print test page; confirm duplex and supplies.
